Freese Dies on Return From Ozark Trip
C J Freese 54 of Ackley died suddenly from a heart attack Saturday morning in Warsaw Missouri just before returning home after a week in the Ozarks with eight Ackley FFA members. Survivors include his wife five daughters and funeral services were held Tuesday in Ackley.

Thompson Reunion Draws 59 In Marble Rock Park
The 24th annual Thompson reunion was held in Marble Rock City park on Sunday June 9. A picnic at noon preceded a short business meeting. Attendees totaled 59 from Clarksville Charles City Alta Vista Marble Rock and Greene. The eldest member was Mrs. Hattie M. Mauch of Marble Rock and the youngest was Mitchell Felder of Alta Vista.

R Duane Scott Ordained Into Baptist Ministry
R Duane Scott was ordained as a Gospel minister by an ordination council of Iowa and Nebraska Baptists at Calvary Baptist Greene on June 3 after examination and testimony. Nineteen messengers from eleven churches attended. Rev Burman and Rev Prugh led services while Dr Harry Gray gave the ordination prayer. Scott, born 1917 in Randolph Nebraska, trained at Omaha Baptist Bible Institute, married Mildred Harris, and served at First Baptist Silver City before license to serve.

The Grace Baptist Church in Omaha sent a minister to Trinity Baptist Church in Council Bluffs. In 1953 the Scott family moved from Council Bluffs to Ogallala Nebraska where he established a new church. He later served Calvary Baptist Church in Greene starting April 1955. Brethren Church School Begins Weeklong Summer Program
Vacation Church School at the Church of the Brethren started Monday and will run one week with plans for additional summer study sessions. Teachers are Mrs James Parks Mrs Eva Fish and Mrs Berniece Frazier with Rev Parks, Mrs Henrietta Smith Janice Kingery and Darlyl Smith assisting. The couple’s son Dale Rodenbeck of Shell Rock is the groom's cousin, and the wedding featured a pink themed dress for the mother of the bride and navy dress for the groom's mother. A 225 guest reception followed in church parlors with decorations of green yellow pink and a four tier cake baked by Mrs Vivian Kruse of Allison and decorated by Mrs Cecil Poppe of Santa Fe New Mexico. Other details include punch coffee guest book and waitresses with gifts overseen by Verlene Barth and Lois Smith. The couple will live on a farm northeast of Allison after a short wedding trip. Rev Parks to Attend Brethren Conference in Richmond
The Church of the Brethren holds its annual conference in Richmond Virginia from June 18 to 23. Rev James Parks pastor of the local church will depart Sunday afternoon to join the meeting. Next year’s conference location is Des Moines and marks the 250th anniversary of the Brethren’s origin in Schwarzenau Germany.

4-H Girls Attend Convention at Iowa State Campus
Thirteen Butler County 4-H girls will attend the 28th annual 4-H Girls Club Convention at the Iowa State College Campus in Ames in June 1922.
