Greene Reserve Teams Sweep Contests In Basketball
The Greene Ramblers freshman team beat Nora Springs 77 to 20 on January 18 with a full court press and strong rebounds led by Gary Debner and Tom Needham. Johnson scored 35, Wunsch 16, Needham 12, Woodley 10, Debner 4. freshmen travel to Charles City January 26. The junior high squads lost to Charles City 17–10 and 40–33 as seventh graders struggled early but battled back. Shultz and Heidenworth each had 4, Sanders 2. Eighth graders dropped overtime 40–33 with Shultz 14, Lester 8, Eimers 7, Stuntz 2. Davis and Austin led Charles City with 12 and 11. Girls seventh and eighth grade defeated Nashua 36–27 and 33–23. Rattler 16 and Majewski 18 led scoring, with Guard lineup noted.
