JV girls fall to Rac ford in rough 42 32 loss
Junior Varsity dropped a 42 32 game to Rac ford with Jane Kanter scoring 19 points as top scorer. Renee Majeuski added 12 and Deb McGee 1 while Bev Brickman and Dane Stanton contributed in forward play. Sherri Muhlenbruck led rebounding with nine. Denise Brinkman Diane Stanton Peggy Steere Linda Constein Lynda Debner and Deb McGee also played guard. In a separate item, great grandparents M and M George Franke welcomed a baby girl born to their granddaughter M and M Doo Randy Schell in Clarksville on Dec 9. the couple becomes the 8th great grandparents to the Fran kes.

The Bennetette Bobcats 4 H Club played two basketball games at Greene Community High School on December 12. The under ninth grade squad lost 37 30 to the Coldwater Clippers 4 H Club with Kelly and Doug Ebling Kent Johnson David and Mike Alen in the Bennetette lineup. The older group, ten grade and up, won 52 18 as Mark Johnson David Ebling Mark Miller Rick and John Schwennen played for Bennetette with Lowell Allen as coach. John Schwennen reports.

The Catholic Daughters of America gathered for a potluck dinner and their regular meeting. A Christmas program was led by Mrs. Florence Schmitt with a gift exchange. Members brought treats and filled plates for shut ins and elderly residents, plus Christmas favors for nursing home residents.

United crews restore phone service after storm
The ice and snow storm swept Greene early last week left many customers without telephone service. Robert Sprague, Area Manager for United Telephone Co., said restoration began immediately by local repair crews. Later, a crew from New Hampton was brought in.
