Drawings Continue for Radios and TV Games in Greene

The Commercial Club conducts weekly drawings offering two CB radios and two TV games valued at 420 dollars each week. Drawings occur Saturdays at 3 30 pm in front of Tom's Stereo with registrations in member stores. Winners last week included Don Lester and Mrs August Heeren for radios and Letha Groothuis and Mrs Ed Smith for TV games.

Floyd Co 4-H Council Elects Co Chairs

The 1977 Floyd County 4-H council held its first official meeting to review the year’s calendar and plan officer training. Dave Staudt and Pam Fitz were elected co chairmen, with May Johnson outlining the program’s purpose. The group scheduled a senior 4-H gathering for January 24 to introduce out of county programs for next summer and planned officer training for December 11. The Senior Girl Scouts will collect papers this Saturday December 11 with curbside pickup by 10 a.m. Bags boxes or bundles accepted. A marked vehicle will serve rural residents at Pooley Lumber parking lot. Papers go to Harold's Service Center near Nashua for insulation. Call Chris Schafer at 823 4610 if missed.

Butler County Cancer Unit Meets In Allison To Plan Crusade

Butler County Cancer Unit of Iowa held a November 30 meeting at Mrs. Laura Oltmanns home in Allison chaired by Mrs. Harry Miller. The group listed 1976 Cancer Crusade contributions by county towns and announced Arlene Jacobsen will co-chair the 1977 Crusade with Mrs George Bushh of Allison to boost support. Memorials chairwoman Mrs. William Nieman of Clarksville reported gifts and legacies, while Peter Olthoff of Parkersburg shared state meeting insights. organizers urged notifying if a cancer patient needs help.

4 H Awards Night in Allison honored Sara Cordes and Steven L Ackerman with the Outstanding 4 H Achievement Award during the Nov 20 ceremony. Marsha Johnson hosted with entertainment by the 4 H Awards Night committee. 108 awards were presented including the Chicago Award Trip funded by the Butler County 4 H Achievement Fund to top 4 H performers across multiple projects.
