Mrs R D Ackley 59 of Marble Rock died Sunday at home. Born September 1, 1913 in Marble Rock to John and Josephine Reis. Survived by husband, son James of Minneapolis, daughter Sally Ann at home, mother Josephine Reis of Charles City, three brothers Lewis Reis St Ansger Earl Reis Virgil Reis, three sisters Mrs John Kramer Marble Rock Mrs Joe Greiner Reinbeck Mrs Paul Greiner Reinbeck. Funeral Wednesday morning at St Marys Catholic Roseville with burial Hillside Marble Rock. Reid's Funeral Chapel in charge.
Anna Marcella Feyereisen Dinsmore 81, a former Greene resident, died Aug 27 at St. Vincent's Home Omaha. Survived by five nephews who are priests and a first cousin. Services Thursday at St. Vincent's Chapel Omaha with graveside at St. Mary's Cemetery Storm Lake. Also notes Richard D Lindell of Whiteman AFB Mo to attend school at Lowry AFB Denver Colo with address.
The Greene Quarterback Club meets Tuesday Sept 4 at 8 p.m. in the High School cafeteria. New head coach Larry Helmers will be introduced and discuss this year's team season prospects and the Sept 7 opening game against Allison-Bristow. Helmers coached Allison-Bristow last year.

Philippe Poreaux 17 from La Ferme Jouarre France arrives in Greene to spend a year as a Youth For Understanding student with M M Macklin family. He traveled from France via Paris to Detroit with other YFU students. He will attend Greene High School. his mother Elizabeth and brothers Christian 20 Benott 10. The 1974 4H Council was elected at the annual 4H Convention and Best of Show Recognition. Over 350 members and families attended at the Charles City Junior High Auditorium. Floyd County Banks presented trophies and money to nearly 100 top project exhibitors. New council members include Jill Handley, Doris Houser, Rita Rottinghaus, Linda Koebrick, Randy Heitz, Steve Koebrick, Galen Montag, Nora Springs, Bill Goebel, and others. Highlights covered Home Economics, presentations, leadership, and various project recognitions.
Mrs. Cleland Eunice Nancy Maxson, 56, of Marble Rock died Sunday at Salisbury Baptist Home in Charles City. Born February 20, 1917, she was married to Cleland Maxson on January 1, 1942. Survived by husband, mother Gladys Nash of Marble Rock, four sisters Leila Lauterbach, Bernice Snelson, LaVera Gratias, LaVonne Wilken, and nine brothers Merle Nash, Robert Nash, and others. Funeral at Bethel Baptist Church Marble Rock with burial at Hillside Cemetery. Rev. Earl Nicewarner officiated. Reid's Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
