Auto insurance to cut Iowa driver costs under new plan
Iowa motorists with good driving records will gain lower auto insurance bills under a new economy policy and safe driver plan. Two national rating groups say discounts apply to private passenger cars with premiums linked to household driving records, reflecting conviction and accident history. The policy, approved by the state insurance department, takes effect September 1.

Regents Study Tuition Increases For Iowa Colleges
Safeguards lives and property and avoids costly accidents, they added. The board of regents is presently having some studies made as a guide in determining whether it is advisable to increase tuitions at the 3 state institutions of higher learning. Tuition is presently about $220 a year for undergraduate Iowa residents at the State University of Iowa at Iowa City. Rates are about the same at Iowa State University at Ames and slightly lower at Iowa tate Teachers College at Cedar Falls. The board is quite concerned with the rising cost of education because its official policy is to make a college education available to any capable Iowan, regardless of his economic status.
