Local Twins Benefit Game Draws 108 Players and Fathers
One hundred eight baseball players and their fathers attended the Twins Baltimore game on Saturday August 2 at Metropolitan Stadium in Minnesota. The Twins lost 6 to 5 with Powell delivering the winning blow. Harmon Killebrew hit two long home runs into center field. Baltimore committed seven errors, three in one inning, surprising many. Nine pitchers worked, and total gate receipts for the local boys benefit were $353.80.

Greene Schools Set August 25 Opening Date
The Greene Community High School will reopen Monday August 25 with a full registration for grades 9 through 12 on August 18 and 19. A 1969-1970 class schedule will appear next week in the Recorder.
