Editor notes praise for Greene Community School band after their live performances at the Greene Commercial Club banquet held at the Lutheran Church. Students presented three groups delivering entertaining music that outshines many name bands.

Ramblers set two school marks at Dickinson Relays

The Ramblers broke three school records at Dickinson Relays. Wendell Stuntz's discus 127 ft 4 in topped the old 126 ft 9 1/4 in mark but he failed to place. The two mile relay team of Hildebrand Ejimers Debner and Shultz ran 8:? to beat the school record by 34 seconds, while the mile relay team also set a new school mark of 3:40.4 and Beamon-Conrad won 3:35.5. The Ramblers next meet includes a dual with North Young Cedar Falls and the Comet Relays at Charles City.

Butler County Eyes New Court House Feasibility Study

Butler County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution calling for a comprehensive study on erecting a new courthouse. The aging building, fire prone per grand juries, will have preliminary plans and cost estimates prepared by Cervetti Weber Associates. A special election on the issue may follow.

Hamline art students tour Paris during spring break

Ward Mehlan, a Hamline University senior and son of Mrs. Harry G. Mehlan of Greene, is pictured on Rue St. Honore as part of a 23 student art study tour led by Dr. Frederick Leach. Dennis Hansen Held On Assault Charge

Barbara Hansen, 21, of Charles City, is in fair condition in a Cedar Rapids hospital after a shoot ing at her home Sunday night. Dennis Ray Hansen, 22, of Greene and now in Colorado, is held on assault with intent to commit murder. Bail is set at 15000. The 38 caliber bullet was removed at Mercy Hospital.

Choir And Band To Present Concert At School
