National Sunday School Week will be observed April 14 to 20 by American youth. Sponsored by the Laymen's National Committee at the Vanderbilt Hotel New York the aim is to encourage boys and girls to attend the church of their choice and to counteract pervasive hate with spiritual values through active participation.
Residents receive notice of Greendale's annual clean and green campaign from April 25 to May 1, tied to Greendale's ninth birthday. curbside refuse collection on April 20, street cleanup on April 30, and guidance to use provided waste containers. The advisory group includes Rev. Schultheiss Spangier Morgan Van Tassell and community members Ambruster Hansley Bruett Clack Kraening Eppley Strong.
A request seeks 12 brass instruments including French horns saxophones cornets tuba trombone baritone and flute for transfer from the Roosevelt New Jersey Housing Project to the Greendale School Band. The appeal stresses community unity.

Chief Harold P Bruett received a certificate after completing an Institute for Training in Municipal Administration program. Village Manager R J Eppley presented the award as part of ongoing efforts to improve Greendale police work. Patrolmen Fred Dobner and Art Krueger will finish a 12 week FBI course at the Wauwatosa Public Safety Building on April 17.
