Ball Diamond Floodlighting To Be Ready In May
The Brinkman Field baseball diamond floodlighting project, started in 1940 as a WPA plan and redesigned after the war, is nearly complete. Wesinghouse Electric supplied most materials while a village electrician and Ed Tsing will finish wiring and connections. Thirty six 1500 watt bulbs on six towers will illuminate the field, with completion expected by June for the first game in mid May.

Greendale Bank Branch Planned By Layton Park
Authorization to open a Greendale branch has been granted by the Wisconsin Banking Commission. Layton Park State Bank will operate the new branch within 60 days, in government-leased premises, for paying and receiving functions to boost Greendale’s commercial capacity and self sufficiency. The town currently hosts 15 commercial units, four added after the war.

Legion Auxiliary Selects Girl For Badger State Trip
The Legion Auxiliary Unit 416 met April 3 in the Community building Recreation room with Commander Arthur Niemeczyk as guest. Members voted to send a top student girl who has finished junior year and ranks in the upper third, chosen by her principal. A medal for Americanism will be awarded April 9 in Greendale. The Department Convention is set for July 19–21 at Appleton, Wisconsin.
