Death of Harry L Maxwell age prominent American evangelist singer and choir leader occurred Saturday afternoon at 4 o clock in Methodist Hospital Indianapolis following kidney stone operation. Funeral held Monday at 3 o'clock at Col Avenue Methodist Church conducted by Rev Hal Davis pastor church and a college chum and friend of Mr Maxwell with Evangelist Ferwick band Dr Salem B Town of Dean University.

Harry Maxwell a DePauw alumnus and noted evangelistic musical director died after a long career. Born June 2, 1866 in Switzler, Indiana he led the DePauwette and Linden Male Quartet, sang in the United States and abroad, worked with Dr. J Wilbur Chapman and Moody, and faced throat trouble years earlier before continuing his evangelistic music ministry. Burial took place in Hil cemetery beside Maxwell, who died two years after a June anniversary.
