Man Held for Check Forgery Pleads Guilty in Putnam Court
Dean Vaught, 20, of Lime Dale, pleaded guilty to forgery before Judge James P. Hughess in Putnam circuit court. The judge withheld judgment, case stood under advisement, and Vaught remained in jail. Forgery carries 2 to 14 years. He allegedly cashed a fraudulent Ernest Ewing check at J. C. Penney for clothing purchased last Monday.

John H. Hester aged 70 died at Culver hospital in Crawfordsville after stomach ulcer surgery and a stroke. Born February 3 1860 in Montgomery County he lived in Brown township all his life. Surviving are a widow five sons four daughters fifteen grandchildren one great grandchild and several siblings. Funeral at his home near Brown's Valley Wednesday at 11 with burial in Russellville cemetery.
