Prominent Putnam County Farmer Fatally Struck by Automobile
Sylvester O H air age 75 prominent Putnam County farmer was killed Saturday afternoon near Greencastle when struck by a car driven by neighbor C K Hall. He stepped into the path of the machine and was dragged about 22 feet, dying minutes later. Witnesses say Hall slowed but could not avoid the tragedy as O H air walked with Warren Lane toward the farm. Coroner McCurry's inquest found a broken neck crushed ribs and a broken right leg. Funeral set for Brick Chapel Church Tuesday at 2 PM with burial in Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Braden Fatally Injured? In Rural Auto Crash Near Brick Chapel
Edgar Braden, 24, a farmer near Brick Chapel, was badly hurt when his buggy was hit from behind by a car carrying six University students. He suffered a head wound, facial gashes, cuts, a concussion, and remained dazed for an hour. Braden was treated by Dr. W. W. Tucker and later taken home by taxi. The buggy’s rear end was damaged, the horse fled to nearby property, and the car occupants offered to cover all damages. A separate fatal auto incident occurred hours earlier north of the Monon tracks involving Sylvester O’Lair.
