The Purple-Robed Junior Choir directed by Kenneth Unifleet staged a most appreciable concert in Meharry hall on Tuesday evening under Prof. Umfleet who has trained the group for two years. The complaints concern notes assigned from the estate of William F. Scott. One note to William F. Scott for 75 was due October 27, 1920, and another to N. F. Scribner assigned to W. F. Scott was due January 1, 1921.
County agricultural agent Floyd Miller reports Russellville high school students tested 225 bushels of seed corn saving an estimated 28125 for township farmers. 5625 ears were discarded as dead, each representing a five dollar loss. Baker leads the program with community support and a Dime Growing contest for younger boys. Farmers are urged to test seed corn. a homemade tester is shown at the First National Bank during a germination contest.

The death of A. E. Wood a former county resident who moved to Indianapolis about 16 years ago occurred suddenly today. He was an uncle of Mrs. Paul Albin and the body will be brought to her home for burial.
Mrs Erna W Stoner 29 of West Lafayette former head of the savage department at Lincoln Bank and Trust Fort Wayne arrested by federal officers on embezzlement charges totaling 10000 dollars from the bank.

Some schools received few or no tickets while others had large allotments. principals urged talks with the control board to prevent a repeat next year.

Dowell of Terre Haute selected head of the new Wabash Valley Boy Scout area covering Greencastle Rockyville Sullivan and Terre Haute He will work from Terre Haute with daily travel to the area and lead camp activities at Camp Krieteysteig in Greencastle Dowell is a college graduate and former teacher who has promoted scouting and will visit Greencastle tonight to organize the new plan.

Alfred Abbott, retiring exalted ruler, became trustee for three years and was succeeded as exalted ruler by J. Kenneth Day. In Connersville Indiana fire destroyed the First National Bank building with damages over 300000. Firefighters from Tulagapolis New Castle Rushville and Richmond aided the local department for over two hours. The department store and offices were also damaged but bank money and papers were saved. Temporary bank quarters were set up at Payette Savings and Loan as officials plan rebuilding.
The body of Alec G. Lester aged sixty four, merchant tailor and head of the Lester department of the Kahy Tailoring Company for thirty five years, will be taken to Frankfort Kentucky Wednesday for funeral services and burial by the Masonic order at Frankfort cemetery at 2 50 p m He died Monday at his home 1029 East Southern avenue after a complication of diseases with pneumonia as the direct cause Lester had lived in Greencastle and Indianapolis before moving to the state capital where he conducted an agency for the Kahy Tailoring Co
Pliny Wolford of the Indiana board of tax commissioners attended in Greencastle to hear evidence in a remonstrance filed by Charles Humphreys and others against the proposed Roy Jones road in Warren township. Remonstrators say the road lacks public utility and its cost would be excessive.
The Green Castle Kiwanis club will hold its regular meeting Thursday at the Christian church. Orville O Hair and Paul Allen are featured performers, offering cornet solos and duets.
Alumnus John H. Harrison donates a record sum to the Greencastle School endowment fund. The gift, reported as seven million sixty thousand dollars, aims to secure permanent support for education.
John Hievings Harrison a Miami Beach publisher died March 2 and named DePauw University chief beneficiary in a will read in Danville. The estate valued near two million dollars earmarks 250000 for John Harrison Hall and 300000 in a trust plus 200000 for a hospital unit and 10000 for a children's home with the balance to permanent endowment at DePauw.
