Charles Grissom of Newcastle reportedly shot his wife before turning the gun on himself in a family tragedy. The incident also involved a claimed shot at a son, details unrevealed. Local authorities investigated the scene and identified the principals, including Albert Grissom of Cloverdale as a brother.
Albert Grissom of Cloverdale, en route to Newcastle where his brother Charles Grissom shot his wife and then killed himself. Reports say the wife died and the father may have shot his oldest son. domestic trouble tied to the act. Charles Grissom was known in Greencastle and worked at an automobile plant in Newcastle.
Charles King a resident of north Greencastle faces assault and battery with attempt to kill charges after a bloody fight in a north Greencastle restaurant. Boswell, also of Greencastle, was severely beaten and struck with a beer bottle. King was arrested days later and jailed on bond of 350 dollars.
Proxell of Greencastle marries Omaenus Bailey of Paston, both DePauw University graduates. The ceremony was at Prof H B Gough’s home on South College. They plan a brief trip to Indianapolis and Cincinnati before settling in Madison where Proxell will enter the newspaper business.
