DePauw University trustees praise emeritus President Lemuel H Marlin and Mrs Marlin for decades of service. They commend his leadership at three universities, Christian example, and reforms on campus. They note Mrs Marlin as gracious hostess and partner in campus life and wish them happiness in Berlin and future emeritus ties.
The American Legion Auxiliary hosted eleven girls and three boys who sold poppies on the streets. May 26 at the Legion Hall featured awards for Frank Durham and Veneta Stites for the most poppies sold. Sunday service at Deer Creek church noted with Jesse Jones ill from mumps. Mr and Mrs Lee Bowen and family visited D V Hursts on Monday afternoon. Miss Zella Bowen stayed for a visit and planned to visit Lockey Hursts afterward.
