Christian churches of Put Nam County plan a two day session at Lisby Grove east of Fillmore on Saturday and Sunday August 14 and 15. The event expects more than 2 000 attendees.
Churches from Russellville to Putnamville join at Lisby grove near Fillmore for August 14 and 15 two day event. More than 2 000 expected at Sunday basket style gathering with programs, county wide reports, evangelist T J Legg addresses and choir music. Finance committee named and grove described as ideal for large turnout.
Mr and Mrs Alee Cohn Carl O MulLane and Alec Newgent finished a long journey visiting California Putnam County and Cloverdale arriving at noon for the final leg home The group praised Cloverdale Indiana roads and recalled nights driving through deserts and mountain passes with limited lodging options and narrow road shoulders as they endured a challenging but enjoyable trip continued on Page Four.

The Green Castle band gave one of its best concerts Thursday evening drawing a monster crowd and scores of parked cars in the streets around the band stand. The Booster Club concerts grow in popularity with country attendees. August 12 is set for the next performance.
Cloverdale merchant Abe Cohn arrived home noon after a long auto journey to California. He praises Cloverdale as the best town and Putnam County as the best county.
State school inspector doubts Greencastle High will receive a commission next year without a new building. He warns plans must be made soon to secure approval and funding for construction.
A letter from State Inspector J. B. Pearcy warns Greencastle may not receive a high school commission next year without tangible progress on a new building. Petitions circulate for a city township joint high school plan as voters may decide soon.
Richard Sinclair on his Greencastle area farm produced 418 bushels from ten acres at about 52 bushels per acre. The grain, sold at a dollar per bushel, is noted as high quality. Neighbor Gilbert Sinclair reported 613 bushels from 28 1/2 acres, with the two farms totaling 1340 bushels.
