Trustees favor moving reformatory to Putnamville site
Joseph E. Hennings of Anderson, president of the Indiana Reformatory trustees, says the plan to move the reformatory from Jeffersonville to the Indiana State Farm near Putnamville will be revived by the legislature. He claims all trustees favor the Penal Farm location, that rebuilding costs at Jeffersonville or new construction at Putnamville would be similar, and that central placement could lower operating costs and keep purchases in Indiana rather than Louisville.
