Auto Wrecks Near Reelsville Injures Five
In Brazil on December 26 a Ford coupe driven by John Aitken lost control on the National road near Butler school and Reelsville, overturning four times. Mrs. Aitken suffered a broken shoulder. the Aitkens and Robert Aitken were treated for injuries. A second crash involving a Dodge and a Hupmobile near the same spot left occupants bruised. Turner's wrecker towed the wrecked cars amid reports of seven accidents in the past week on this stretch of the road.

Samuel S McCoy a Cloverdale resident aged 81 died at Putnam County Hospital at 6 am after a cancer illness. Born April 15 1847 he lived in Putnam County most of his life and was a farmer a merchant and stockholder in local firms. Funeral services are planned at the Church of Christ in Cloverdale on Saturday with time not yet set.

Charles Barry and Lewis Dunn, both Indianapolis Negroes, were sentenced to life imprisonment for first degree murder in Hancock Circuit Court. They confessed to killing Charles Conrad, a grocer, on November 22, 1927. The cases were moved from Indianapolis. two other defendants, Arlie Balthrip and Archie Gurnell, already serve life terms.

Outlaws Wreck Crack Flyer in California
In Hesperia California Santa Fe passenger Train No 22 derailed at 60 mph injuring seven to nine people with one serious. Five Pullman cars and a business car carrying Assistant Superintendent McGee slid off a 20 foot embankment after rail spikes along a curve were removed possibly by bandits. Deputies say passengers escaped with narrow margins while officials hunt the suspected outlaws.
