Boy Hunter Dies After Accidental Shot
Frederick Evans ten year old son of Herbert Evans of Spencer Indiana died from a gunshot wound received while rabbit hunting near Spencer. He and his cousin Harry Pratt Martinsville were hunting a rabbit when Pratt rose and the shotgun discharged striking Evans in the abdomen. He died within hours.

Police Dog Halts Car Theft Attempt on East Washington
A German police dog belonging to Miss Mona McAllister barked and rushed the door to stop a thief as he attempted to steal Miss Mary Case’s Chevrolet on East Washington Street. The suspect fled to a second car as the dog alerted by the intrusion.

Civil War Vet James Knight Dies in Bridgeton
Civil War veteran James Knight, about 82, died at 5 30 Saturday evening in Bridgeton Parke County. He leaves son Robert of Bridgeton and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 in Pleasant Valley Parke County with Rev Cornelius Airhart presiding.

Deserter pastor arrest ends in Spencer case
Leo Boots McCullough of Quincy, 28, a two term state penal farm inmate for child neglect, was arrested in Terre Haute and brought to Spencer. He pleaded guilty to desertion of three children given to a Quincy Methodist pastor, and was sentenced to Pendleton Reformatory for 1 to 4 years. The Rev R E Fields was the pastor involved.

Narrow escape as horse car collision kills DePauw student
Miss Helen Clemens of Manistee Michigan a DePauw student rode a horse with Miss Mary Wood when a traction car struck the animal at a crossing near American Zinc Products Co east of town. The horse was cut in two and the rider escaped with nervous shock while Conductor O F Cox was in charge of the car bound east at 3 20.

Terre Haute Officer Seizes Liquor In Moss Car
Clifford Moss a 21 year old Terre Haute man was stopped by Officer John Hamm at Indiana and Liberty streets and five pints of cut liquor found in his Buick. Moss faces liquor law charges in Mayor McGaughey court and was fined 145 dollars and sentenced to three months on the Indiana State Farm. Local authorities plan to seize the Buick coupe. Moss admitted peddling alcohol at a local cement plant.
