The local scout troop held an afternoon meeting led by Mr. Daugherty with flag pledge and roll call. Prof. Knight invited scouts to meet Wednesday after school, and a Friday gathering at 7 pm to organize a delegation to the tabernacle. A Saturday hike at 9 am includes cooking practice and games under Mr. Daugherty’s guidance. Membership cards will be distributed Friday evening at the tabernacle.

Putnam County beekeepers gather Monday at 2 PM in the city library basement for a major meeting with two national bee authorities C O Yostyod and Frank M. Walace state entomologist. Beekeepers may have their bees inspected and a later week tour with experts is planned for apiaries inspection. Also notes Mrs Frank Donner and Mrs J W Cole with visiting cousins spent the day in Indianapolis.

H R Cholmeley Jones directs the U S War Risk Insurance Bureau medical care network serving over 641000 patients drawn from a potential 5 million and more than 10000 in hospital, with 4558 beds in public health and civil institutions, plus prosthetic and revision services for veterans of World War I.
W. K. Hurst, wintering in St. Petersburg, aided in capturing a 21 foot alligator found in a shallow haven near the bank. Nine men used ropes and a truck to subdue the creature in a jungle like area. A bamboo pole aroused the alligator exposing its jaws, ropes were placed on both jaws and the animal finally became helpless.
