Mrs Hart Credits Pink Pills To Cure Chronic Rheumatism

An Indianapolis New Era report from Greensburg cites Mrs. Hart describing years of rheumatism neuralgia and kidney trouble. She credits Dr Williams Pink Pills for Pale People with her recovery after trying eight boxes and recommends them to others. Disease and blood condition improved, she says, and sleep appetite and health returned. Other locals she mentions benefited as well. Pills sold 50 cents a box six for 2.50 through druggists or by mail from Schenectady NY.

Water famine past at Camp Alger Virginia

A camp letter from Camp Alger Virginia dated June 13 describes restored water supply with three wells and good water in the regimental area. Soldiers explain rations differ from home but deny starving, note Sundays will be rest days, and recount YMCA Sunday meetings. The writer also visits the Capitol in Washington describing its size art and statues, and mentions a transfer of cook H E Reeves and a cousin visit. Allen A Hakkeamaan signs off.

Brawl on the Square Ends with Wound and Window Breakage

A noon Tuesday scuffle between Madison township men Wm Wells and Jake Thomas led to a broken Shipley show window and a painful facial wound for Thomas. Wells supported plaintiff Charles Gardner in a court case. Thomas claimed Wells testified under improper influence, prompting a warrant against Wells. Meanwhile Dr Evans opens a new office block at Jackson and Walnut with suites for Dr King Dr Gillespie and Jas Hurley.
