City Council Reaches Agreement On Subdivision Water System

The City Council and Malcolm Politano Jr reached a satisfactory agreement during the February 1 1956 meeting to install water and sewer lines for the proposed Politano subdivision. Work is set to start soon after the ordinance interpretation and proposition discussion.

Notice to Masons and City Council Actions in Green River

A special communication of Orient Lodge No 15 F and A M set for February 13 1956. The city council agreed to back an 8800 expenditure for new fire equipment for the Green Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and authorized garbage-route operations by Jack Logan. The council invited the Municipal League for a Spring Convention with officials from Grand San Juan Carbon and Emery Counties.

License Plate Issuance Date Set for February 18

Notice states license plates will be issued February 18 at City Offices in the Municipal Building. Hours are 9:00 AM to 12:00 and 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

City Comer Planning Board and Civil Air Patrol Meetings

City Comer plans to meet on the first Wednesday of each month with attendance urged. The Planning Board meets on the second and fourth Thursdays monthly. Civil Air Patrol holds weekly meetings Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. in the basement of the Midland Hotel.

Green River Aims to Bring Doctors and Dentists Soon

The town has lacked a doctor and dentist for years. The Women's Club with the American Legion Auxiliary and the Service Club are coordinating to obtain medical services. A group of Price doctors has offered to contribute one day a week, according to Dr Williams.

FirlowKs CREEPERS performed by Grand County High seniors

Grand County High School presented the comedy FirlowKs CREEPERS in the school auditorium on Thursday February 2. The cast Wilbur and Here chased a mystery of a dead man who wasn’t dead as the audience laughed. Directed by Mrs Duane Wimmer the production featured local doctors volunteering for dental work and a plan to convert the municipal building’s downstairs room into three offices and a waiting area by March 1.

Local High School Group Presents Assemblies

Nineteen GRHS students toured Ferron and Huntington last Friday to entertain Emery County High Schools with a variety program titled Hello Mom. The show played at South Emery High at 11 00 am and at North Emery High at 2 00 pm with Arden Sherrill as Master of Ceremonies and cast members Norma Thompson Mary Lou Wilcox and Sharon Robinson among others.

Pirates Fall To Rangers In Final NEHL Game At Huntington

Green River Pirates lost to the NEHL Rangers by 18 points in Huntington last Friday despite improved shooting. The game remained competitive throughout, but the Rangers’ smooth offense pulled away late.

Sinister House to Be Presented by High School

The high school all girls spring play Sinister House a mystery melodrama in three acts is set for February 23 with tentative date February 28. Students Sharon Robinson Ann Murray Helen Thurston Karma Halverson lead roles alongside a large cast and directed by Lee F Gledhill. The group traveled by school bus to Huntingston and attended a league game where the Pirates trailed by three points in the third quarter.
