A city council meeting discusses trimming an automobile age limit ordinance as constitutional issues loom. Other items include sewer rebates, fire department staffing, street grading, curfew bell arrangements, and Glenmere park donation.
Eve festival brings Harmonic UruS and Ghty Strong to a rehearsal in the Preabq ueare Sunday school room with about 60 present. Professor Wul fie directs the new choir and voices receive praise as work begins on the concert. The choir seeks more members and closes membership during Friday rehearsal for Denver travel. The orchestra, to number twelve, will rehearse next week ahead of the action.
Fragmentary Kirksville notices mention residence of Dr Martin Prison on Eleventh Street and Dr Morgans absence east. Attison departs for Athy studies as Sunday school officials plan final session. A party at E A Ahlstranden home with cards and refreshments noted. about twenty guests counted.
State game and fish commissioner J. A. Shinn reports ranchers kill more deer than sportsmen and says wardens will enforce the law this season. Deer are plentiful across the state with many hunting licenses issued. The six day season ends soon and a heavy snowfall could increase killings. Deer move to lower levels during storms, aiding hunters.
A daughter was born on Monday to Mr and Mrs W Adrian. The brief notice records the newborn and parental names without additional details.
President C. S. Johnson of the Denver Laramie Northwestern railroad tours the route from Denver to Elk Mountain with a party of Denver business leaders including C. A. Johnson of the Chamber of Commerce, R. Conaway, John M. Galup, F. R. Ross, P. F. Roose, D. D. Mapes, and others to inspect resources and construction along the line.

H D Johnson of Colorado Milling and Elevator cites summer drought as the cause. Spring wheat is plentiful due to adequate moisture, while winter wheat will be scarce because it is grown on dry or unirrigated land.
The first drop in refined sugar came when Arbuckle Brothers cut 75 points to 6.25 for fine granulated. Most sugar firms followed except the Federal company. Reportedly dockers noted a consumption dip since the price rise and speculated Magnaes aim to deter a boycott of their goods.
Ault locals expect an interesting baseball game this afternoon as the men of Ault meet the Fairplay team at Ault.
A strange electrical storm hit Erie with a brief shower. A lightning bolt struck an old tree by the livery stable, and via occult current traveled to electric lines and into homes, burning out over four-fifths of the town's incandescent globes while not blowing a fuse.
C. T. Downey editor of Mining Science has bought a 20 acre farm on the west side of the river from Dr. J. B. Marble. He will remodel the house and improve the place for a summer home. The property features a large house a grove and a 1200 foot artesian well.
Greeley will be represented in the Futurity at the Gentlemen's Driving and Riding club one day meeting in Denver on September 30. Jerome Igo's high class costs enter the trotting class for a $1000 purse. The card includes five harness and five running races with a driverless match race between Joe Younger and Genuine. Railroads offer reduced fares for the return trip.
Miss Ottilia Beck and Clarence Oliver Jackson of Greeley were married Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the bride's mother's home, Mrs. Ross Jeremiassen. Rev. Reagan of the Baptist church performed the ceremony. The bride wore a white wool suit. they were unattended. The bride has lived in Ault the past two years. The groom has recently resided in Ault.
A good rain fell Tuesday evening in Platteville, helping the tomato crop to ripen in good shape after a needed soak.
Grand Junction reports the Farmers' Educational & Co operative Union ends its semi annual session after condemning the last legislature for blocking the internal improvement fund and hindering good roads while proposing a state fire insurance law and a state sugar refinery. Acceptance of President George B Lang's resignation was deferred.
Miss Elizabeth Camfield will host a series of events this week at the home of her parents Mr and Mrs D A Camfield. The first event is a card party this evening followed by thimble parties on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
Weld county delegates will attend the Public Lands convention in Denver opening tomorrow despite serving on a grand jury. The assembly brings national figures and officials to discuss Western land policy with Taft to speak October 3. Sessions run day and night with wide public access.
John C. Hitt a 30 year old married Longmont farmer's son and Nor ma Harrison 17 daughter of Rev A G Harrison disappeared from Boulder after leaving Longmont Monday night. They were believed to elope and were last seen at Hitt's ranch before heading to unknown parts. Hitt had recently filed divorce proceedings accusing his wife of infidelity.
Small railroad representatives urged the state board of equalization to cut assessments, arguing they are unprofitable and cannot bear high taxes. Larger systems like Santa Fe and Rio Grande will be heard later this week, with only modest cuts expected for smaller roads and no major reductions for the big systems.
A fifteen year old girl Inez Frye from Ault is in the county hospital while Harry Brownlee and John Catlett are confined in the county jail on a charge of contributing to juvenile delinquency. They were arrested yesterday at Ault by Marshal Wilkins. Another woman fled and may be arrested later. The group is said to have caused a disturbance near the town.
Erie residents celebrate a second premium for the Erie exhibit at the Weldounty fair. The event drew many local attendees as plans grow for a larger community celebration through October 10, with purple and gold chosen as festival colors and a crowded club room hosting a post event reception.
