City Commissioner Shields reports one case of typhoid in Greeley for September, with no measles or whooping cough and high water purity. A renewal ordinance on burning leaves near city limits is set for first reading next Thursday, plus plans to remove leaves on premises and use composting methods.

The city is improving Island Grove park with a new plot of the area, a road around the park about a mile and a half long, and upcoming shrubbery and tree planting. Street crews led by Supervisor Seaman work on a widened roadway while park roads receive upgrades to enhance next summer’s appearance.
Frank Chapman and Ed Thompson faced Justice McKinney in LaSalle on October 4 and pleaded not guilty to burglarizing EB A Anderson and George Briggs stores. Plans for a new town hall in Fort Lupton are complete and construction will start immediately. The cement block building costs $3.00 and will house an assembly hall, jail, and hose house with specific dimensions for each room and an iron roof facing Fourth Street.
Charles Perry of Knoxville Iowa was the guest of Mr and Mrs D A Curtis Sunday. He stopped in Gree ley on his way to Loveland.
Mrs. W. B. Long was surprised at home on Monday evening by friends to celebrate her birthday. The event, planned by her husband, featured cards and refreshments prepared by Mrs. Longwith and served late in the evening.
The Denver Chamber of Commerce outlines a national grade permanent Colorado exposition to be housed in the Chamber building.
