Centipede Bite Incident Reported in Albuquerque Garden
A well known Albuquerque woman was bitten on the neck by a centipede while blackberry picking. She applied ammonia and soda after removing the creature, kept her presence of mind, and did not call a doctor. The wound swelled then improved and she continued to treat it herself. The incident was noted by the Albuquerque Citizen. The New York Sun confirms a forthcoming convention document detailing bank efforts to sustain government credit in 1861.
