Reds Triumphant at Fair Grounds in 23 to 8 Victory
Greeley Reds defeated Pleasant Valley style at the fair grounds Thursday afternoon, taking a $25 purse. Five Points battery from Denver and ex-Greeley Red were mentioned as possible opponents but illness altered plans. White Henderson combined for strong pitching and fielding, with Gibbs Sturdevant and House solid in the field. Rain halted play in the second inning but the manager pushed to finish the game, ending in a Reds win by 23 to 8 in the death inning. Scotty plans to stay in Greeley Colorado after today.
