Body of Rev Van Valkenburg Taken to Denver for Burial
The body of Rev Richard Van Valkenburg was laid to rest in Fairmont cemetery Denver beside his daughter Mrs Rice after a funeral train from Greeley. The Grand Lodge 1 O F conducted the services with Dr J M Norman reading the ritual and J E Snook delivering the ritual. Rev Van Valkenburg had served as grand chaplain for 25 years and his funeral in Greeley followed at the Methodist church with music and a sermon by Rev Mogg. Floral offerings came from across the state and lodges from Erie sent emblem pieces for the casket trimmed with a casket prepared by the deceased years earlier.
