A hotel upholsterer delays repairs as a heavy guest naps in a chair awaiting work. The man wakes and jokes the chair nearly killed him, while the upholsterer endures the scene and the clerk glances on. Both sides leave with a wary, comical tension.
Governor John F. Shafroth rejected a 26 pound Thanksgiving turkey from a western slope commissioner and required officials to decline all gifts from subordinates. The circular directs officers and appointees to avoid presents to or from department staff as Christmas nears.

Mayor May or Shank continued his sale of chickens turkeys geese and ducks at cost for Thanksgiving tables of Indianapolis residents. More than 800 advance orders were received as the city market opened. Poultry supply is secured directly from farmers to push food price relief.

Mrs John S Davis entertained a group of 25 lady friends at her home Tuesday afternoon. The event was inspired by Mrs Harry Thayer of Fort Collins with guests handy for visiting and handcrafts. Refreshments were served by Mrs J C Ewing and Mrs S M Hadden.

Governor John F. Shafroth canceled plans to join the Governors' Special Train tour of the East from St. Paul after Hiram Hills claimed he would become governor if Shafroth and Lt. Fitzgarrald left Colorado. Shafroth sent a telegram explaining the risk and decision not to go.

Nine couples secured marriage licenses and multiple weddings occurred as Thanksgiving celebrations spread through Weld County. Notable couples include G. W. Jones and Sarah J. Storms, a 76 year old groom and 66 year old bride, who wed at the Episcopal rectory and plan a honeymoon in Fosston before settling in Greeley.
The annual Catholic fair planned by St. Peter's Church will run from Tuesday through the week at Camfield Hall. The event promises a week of enjoyment with new novelties and busy participants, aiming to be the greatest in church history.
Bert Pickett faces district court trial on charges of selling diseased meat near Milliken. A jury was secured this morning and the court adjourned at noon to reconvene Friday morning.
A drunken student disrupted the peace at Severance last night and was jailed on a disturbance charge.
Humane Officer Morton David said after visits in Weld county that Colorado beet fields show well cared for children. He found no evidence of chapped hands or neglect and noted children around Windsor go to school with teachers backing their reports. He acknowledged some poor housing but overall conditions are excellent and there will be action if dog huts used again next summer.
