Weld County receives its heaviest rainfall in over a year, soaking ground to planting depth and promising a banner crop. The storm waters supply sugar beets and pasture while irrigation gaps close, lifting farmer spirits as beets move to planting and hay lingers for future cuts.
The Pillar lecture at the Greek Wilberthursday Friday Yelock discusses the fourth topic under the management by Supt GC EB Carter who died Presbyterian church on evening May 8. Mesdames J H Hays C A Ringle D D Hugh and Miss Louise Hannum led two May Day themed receptions last week at Mrs Hays home entertaining over 150 ladies. Decorations featured purple lilacs white lilacs May baskets and spring blossoms with an orchestra on the veranda and faculty ladies aiding in serving.
The Epworth League held its semi annual election at the church Friday evening electing Dr Bila Mead as president Ernest Tuck as first vice Marian Van Dyne as second vice Mary Thompson as third vice Nora Rugh as fourth vice Nellie Cottrell as secretary Trudy Cameron as treasurer Delegates Marian Van Dyne and Nora Rugh were chosen to attend the state convention in Montrose A social followed with refreshments served

A number of new members were initiated into the I O O F Tuesday evening April 28. Judge Jon A Nixon joined the order by withdrawal card. During the short program for the good of the order Judge Nixon made an excellent address. A supper followed the initiatory ceremonies.
