Commercial Club Backs New UP Depot and Track Plan
At a January banquet 115 members of the Commercial Club endorsed allowing Union Pacific to lay an industrial track on the west side of Sixth Avenue between Twelfth and Fourth streets. They urged a possible $40,000 depot and a freight house, arguing the project would ease city congestion and aid future Crow Creek traffic, despite one objection over possible nearby property damage. The council was to debate the issue that evening.
