The newly formed Weld County Fair association held its first meeting and elected officers including president and treasurer. Directors pledges and committees were named for buildings grounds by laws premiums and advertising as Island Grove Park is chosen for this year’s fair with plans for future grounds expansion. The meeting adjourned to report next Saturday and prepare by laws and a constitution.

Fifteen New Street Lights To Be Installed Citywide
The electric light company begins work on fifteen additional lights along Pew Street and other areas under a revised contract extending four months. After May 26 the city will switch to around-the-clock service with lights burning from after sunset to before sunrise, at a cost of 1 per year per 2000 candle power lamp, down from 90 per light previously.

Swedish Synod Convention Reports Plans for Linsborg Home and Additions
Rev Gustafson returned from the Kansas conference of the Augustana Synod. A constitution for an old peoples home in Linsborg was drawn up with support from the conference and a modest admission fee. An orphanage addition at Mariadahi is planned at about 6000 dollars. Bethany college in Linsborg and an academy at Round Rock, Texas, belong to the conference. The Synod has 1100 congregations. Next meeting slated for Red Wing, Minnesota in mid June.

Mrs Lucy Reed Dies at 76 After Pneumonia
Mrs Lucy Reed, 76, died Sunday at her son Charles H Reed’s home 1625 Seventh Avenue. She came to Greeley in 1907 and was a longtime member of the M B entired. Funeral services were held at the home this afternoon and burial followed in Gardner.
Sheep Load in District Returns to Omaha Bound Freight
About 1800 head of sheep were loaded here Sunday from the farmers spur, nearly clearing the district on foot. A. W. Atkinson owns the lot, plans to go east with them, with Omaha as the initial destination and potential farther routing if advised after arrival.

Death claims Patterson child from scarlet fever outbreak
