Protection Law App Aims at Stock Sanitation and Disease Control
The act empowers the state board of stock inspection commissioners to set quarantine and sanitary rules to prevent spread of southern fever contagious pleuro-pneumonia and other diseases. It allows destruction or crushing of stock when needed for public safety. Owners of diseased animals who permit running at large or expose other stock or sell diseased animals face fines from 50 to 500 dollars or up to six months in county jail, or both. One Cent Surplus Found in Chicago Post Office Records
For sixteen years the Chicago post office carried a one cent surplus. W L Clucas, a North American Life agent, found a draft for one cent issued January 5, 1891 to his father W J Clucas then Lebanon Illinois postmaster under Cleveland. The draft could not be cashed and stayed a relic until estate settlement revealed the indorsement issue.

Real estate water deal links Denver and Boulder men to Kersey area
In Denver last week the Platte Valley Land company transferred the English ditch and about 8000 acres to a new company formed by Denver and Boulder investors for 150000 dollars. The new firm plans a twenty mile extension of the English ditch toward Kersey, routing water to thousands more acres. The Platteville lake reservoir will be expanded to 500 million cubic feet, improving water rights and supply for beet and potato fields as the ditch and reservoir are enlarged this summer.

Eastern Star Dance Proves a Splendid Success in Storm
Despite the stormy weather on Wednesday evening the local Eastern Star chapter hosted its first dance. The event sold 125 invitations, exceeding the planned 100, and drew a wide audience. Mr and Mrs George Morgan led the grand march as punch was served by Mesdames W Z Bills and Eugene Veldran. Those who did not dance enjoyed parlors and cards upstairs.

Odd Fellows Celebration At Fort Collins 88th Founding
The Colorado and Southern railroad sold 188 tickets for the Odd Fellows anniversary event in Fort Collins last Friday. About 1,500 members attended from twenty six lodges, with the Greeley delegation joined by a sixteen piece band from Greeley.

Tribune editors collected early Greeley photographs from residents, displaying twenty images from the 1870s. Highlights include railroad trains at a sid ing and Meeker school scenes with lake reflections, plus scenes of mills, lynching in 1888, and local residents. The exhibit runs Thursday to Saturday at Fezer's drug store show window.
