Boy Drowned in Number 2 Ditch on Ridgeway Ranch
The body of Albert Fleming, 38 years old, was found by Henry Tonson in a ditch on the Ridgeway ranch around 4 PM Thursday. He had been dead several hours and the body drifted about half a mile downstream. The parents mourn and blame themselves for letting him play near the ditch. Funeral arrangements pending.

Archaeologists report a well preserved Indian skeleton fragment uncovered Friday in a gravel pit at the foot of Eleventh street by the river. The bones including arm leg and most of the skull were brittle and likely over fifty years old, buried under sand and gravel from flood deposits.

Derelict Arrest in Cheyenne Theft Case
Deputy Sam Woland of Morgan County received a call Friday afternoon to arrest a young man for robbery who fled Morgan after buying a Cheyenne ticket. On the train to Greeley the suspect slept, was detained, and later accused a partner of stealing $8 from a purse after paying with a $5 bill from the same pocketbook.

Hoover Bridge Gone and North Span Condemned
The south bridge over the Platte named the Hoover bridge has gone out and the north bridge by the Plumb ranch has been condemned. The latter remains in use though deemed unsafe. Heavy rains earlier in the week caused flooding but the resulting damage remains limited.
