The Tribune advertises a special excursion to Glacier Lake Eldora on Tuesday July 16. The trip offers a quieter outing with excellent seats and a refined local crowd, includes a reworked route from Boulder, and features stopovers for picnics and sightseeing with a return to Boulder in the evening.

Greeley Fourth of July Celebrations Highlight Simple Life Shift

Weld county towns Platteville Eaton and Greeley hosted festive Fourth of July events drawing about 2,000 visitors from surrounding areas. Bert Lair of Eaton won the race with Pat O Donnell of Greeley second. Eaton also won a 3 to 5 ballgame against Cheyenne. A narrow death scare involving Robert Candlin occurred but no other accidents marred the day. The day featured a wild west exhibition, fireworks, and a quiet post celebration scene as locals enjoyed community gatherings and parades with officers named for the occasion.

Nunn Real Estate Office and Irrigation Ditch Plans

The Pioneer real estate office serves the Nunn business district with a new office setup. R Ray Clarke is Minetor and the barber shop occupies the building’s west, fed by Mr Evans of Wellington. W H Hib of Fort Collins says two people will benefit from a new ditch project by the Mle Poudre Reservoir and Irrigation Company, owner of Swift holdings on the Tamie river, offering water access year round and a ten year payment plan.

The Larimer County Irrigation Company No 2 files a suit in Fort Collins claiming its water has been stored and asserting rights against the owners of all ditches in the Poudre valley with reservoir water.

Hardin's Meadow Country Gains Ground Amid Ranch Growth

The Tribune reports Hardin shifting from cattle feeding to general farming with 1000 acres near the station selling for 50 per acre. Woods Brothers own a 13000 acre ranch including Baroness von Richtofen holdings, managed by Chas. H. Allen. Beet sugar factory talked of, Hardin Mercantile offers good service, and local rail facilities and schools support ongoing development.

Third Company Wants Greeley to Denver Electrical Line

A new electrical railway firm Interurban Construction seeks a county franchise for a line from Greeley to Denver. E N Reeser of Denver leads the effort claiming ties to several big ventures and majority farmer support for the right of way. Meanwhile two other groups push surveys and promise construction this fall. A public gathering in Eaton included parades, prizes, and speeches by J W Gault and Earl Cranston.

Kelim Divorce Case Remains Pending In Larimer County

Judge Garrigues heard arguments on temporary alimony in the divorce suit of Stella J. Kelim against Lee J. Kelim. Mrs Kelim was granted $150 monthly support and $500 attorney fees pending the suit. Kelim is described as a wealthy farmer from Loveland. The hearing was preliminary to the district court trial in Larimer County.

Horse Rescue From Deep Cistern At Seely Lake Farm

Ed Kelley of Seely Lake reports his horse fell into a large cistern last Friday night. Six men labored for hours to free the animal, digging a runway and using manure to raise the horse to the runway level. Water danger prevented deeper excavation while the horse was walked out.
