The sheriff's office begins the year with enhanced ledgers designed by Undersheriff Williams to simplify access to records. The civil book lists case name, attorneys, docket, instrument type, and dates received served and returned, while the opposite page shows writs and debtor creditor details. The criminal book is improved but less complete than the civil record.

City council of Greeley plans an inquiry into fire safety at the opera house with Manager W F Stephens. Proposals include added exits, new stairways, bridging openings to streets and offices, a balcony escape, and a stage exit to the alley. Other buildings will be reviewed for fire escapes.

Reservoir Dam Progress Near Windsor Aims for Record Capacity
The Windsor reservoir dam reaches completion on a stone arch 350 feet long four feet wide and five feet high. Embankment raises six feet with 150 000 cubic yards of earth moved at a cost around 40 090. When full the reservoir holds 800 million cubic feet up from 600 million, becoming the valley’s largest.

Prisoners confess and face penalties in district actions
Three county jail inmates admitted guilt to district court judge Bennett after talking with Sheriff Filiott. Lee Fretwell received a $100 fine and costs for liquor selling charges and is serving the fine at the county jail. Frank Wilson, linked to thefts at a horse market in Denver, got two years or more in the state prison. A. R. Petty pled guilty to forging a check and was sent to Buena Vista for an indeterminate sentence.
