The Colorado Bell Telephone central now provides weather forecasts from the U S Weather Bureau to subscribers. Forecasts reach rural towns four to six hours earlier than mail. On day one 238 towns were served across Colorado and New Mexico. The program, started by W F Cozad and W F Brown, is popular with farmers and prompted extensive improvements at the Denver area office.

Pair Paroled Reformatory Inmates Arrested For Horse Stealing
Frank Wilson and Ray Spencer both about 21 are jailed on horse stealing charges after being caught in Denver while selling a team. Spencer confessed the theft occurred near Greeley the day before. The stolen teams belonged to John Vose and C. B. Kelsey. Wilson had been paroled from Buena Vista reformatory last August.

Teachers to Get One Third Fare Holiday Rate
Railroad companies notify superintendents that teachers and students of state institutions may travel home for the holidays at a one and a third fare for the round trip. Tickets go on sale December 18 to 24 and remain valid until schools reopen January 11 1904. Certificates from county or district superintendents are required to prove qualifying status.
