Weld County’s Tribune plans a 48 page Prosperity Edition with large photo features and writers at full tilt. Preparations include 300 to 400 new photographs and a tight schedule to print eight page sections while preserving regular publication. The Colorado Railroad company bids a vast state network connecting Weld County to coal fields and Estes Park, shaping rail competition with C and F lines.
Batterson Business Conference ends Friday with attendees praising practical advice. E P House grows 36 alfalfa varieties on his farm in a western town. Alfalfa height ranges from six to eight feet and yellow headed plants appear. H Lowe and J F McCreery lead an alfalfa hunt to Weld County with 15 varieties collected for a state exhibit in Pueblo.
Reports describe a four year old Cruse boy breaking a collar bone after a swing mishap and a three times older Spitzman son nearly crushed in a hay press. Doctors treated both boys with significant injuries including a severed finger and mangled hand.
In Windsor Har rison Teller was named administrator of the John C. Cowley estate with Eliza A Cowley as sole heir and 1100 dollars in property. Final settlement day marked for Earl K Terry estate. The Daily Tribune Booster Excursion to western Weld county is postponed indefinitely because of concurrent racing at Island Grove Park this week. The paper notes horsemen stand to lose money and pledges to help them through the trouble.
E S Batterson urges reducing committee sizes to about three members per area and forming an executive board to boost efficiency. He envisions the commercial club as a city advisory body promoting civic improvement through focused, energetic groups while avoiding social rooms and vaudeville shows. The evening discussion closes Batterson’s series with a review of civic growth and related topics.
The Grand Lodge Pythian Sisters meet in Colorado Springs this week. Mrs R B Kemmerer Grand Junior of Colorado left Monday for Colorado Springs. Mrs Olive Swanson representative for Temple 43 of Greeley attended along with Mesdames Sarah Spere Oliver White and Rose Eames. Mrs Kristine Malone will go tomorrow.
The Daily Tribune announces a major Special Prosperity Edition led by C A Lindsey a top advertising executive. The issue will showcase Weld County with articles written by local and expert authors and distributed across Iowa Nebraska and Kansas with hundreds of photos to illustrate the county’s achievements.
J. M. Peterson lost fifty dollars to a pocket picker during Frontier day at Cheyenne. He carried extra cash to pay for a refreshment stand license but was blocked from a city site and given on grounds instead. The same day seventeen similar losses were reported, including a man from Pierce whose pocket was slit.
The Batterson Business conference discussed three core conditions for new industries: raw material, power, and market. Speakers favored many small factories over a single large one and cautioned against reliance on tax remittances or bonuses. The group endorsed local loans and stronger home industry promotion, with an extra Commercial club session planned for four this afternoon to pursue new industry drives.

Miss Mary Brush spent last week on the western slope giving Domestic Science lectures at ladies sessions during Farmers Institutes in Rifle DeBeque New Castle and Emma. She returned via Colorado Springs and arrived home Saturday.
Elsie Tolliver seventeen and her eighteen year old Denver companion Helen Wyatt ran away from a Bellevue ranch near Fort Collins. Deputy Marshal Ahrend stopped them in the park after a telephone tip from W J Tolliver. They confessed and were held at the county hospital before being returned home. the older girl remains in hospital, while the younger was taken back to Bellevue.
John R. Thompson handed five dollars to the Tribune for the democratic campaign fund. Oliver Howard also contributed five dollars. Funds will be sent to Governor Haskell of Oklahoma, chair of the democratic campaign finance committee.
