County progress story outlines a permanent adobe and log cabin display at the fairgrounds with colonial era tools, a parade idea, and a Pioneer Society plot to house a fifty year span exhibit. Harvey Parker's Seernesy Cattle herd plans to exhibit along with the historical display.
Rhoda Norton Aynes and Harold Deitt Roberts of Salem Oregon wed Tuesday at 6 30 pm in Colorado College hall. President Slocum presided and classmates attended as pink and white season decor framed the service. The couple plans a cottage in Salem and will send announcements from Greeley with W M initials.
The First Presbyterian church shows a handsome interior after recent renovations. Pews are freshly finished and wall decorations are artistic and beautiful with cream and light tones. Stenciled designs enhance the walls in lighter shades, a design by D. J. Shrewsbury.
A. J. R. Lohr reports a mall branch of a plum tree with Yer 106 ripe plums on it. The tree on his lot in Greeley is loaded and nearly broken down. Seed of California plum planted ten years ago produced large marble sized, highly flavored fruit.
Early spuds are scarce in the Greeley district with most of what exists consumed locally until September 1. F W Hatch leads the district by digging six acres and yielding 130 sacks sold at 2.50 per hundred pounds.
A Tribune report from Tuesday notes Buffalo Bill’s show drew crowds in Greeley with two performances. The afternoon act impressed though some drills lagged. the evening crowd faced a brisk exit with a quick teardown. Greeley residents paid for tickets, while ticket wagons charged 75 cents and 50 cents. The side shows offered tame fare and a man-eating Zip spectacle drew mixed reactions. The leading actress collected her pay then departed amid applause and handshakes. The ice cream vendor underperformed in the chilly venue.
Billy Haskell, conductor of the Laramie mixed train, fell under his locomotive at Utah Junction after the Greeley departure. He lost part of a foot, suffered a dislocated hip and a broken arm, and was taken to St. Anthony's hospital. The train, delayed two hours, had halted to aid returning show visitors.
A 10 year old son of farmer Charles Myers near Peckham was stung on the eye by a bee while visiting his parents hives. The sting left in the eye threatens sight, and doctors in Greeley report the condition as one of the rarest on record.
A Mexican laborer riding a flat car for Union Pacific died when he fell under the wheels of a moving train. No further details were provided about the incident or investigation.
Demeccy Predrose, 29, was riding a freight train with his brother and a companion when he fell from a flat car during yard switching in Frederick. He was instantly killed and Coroner Macy returned the remains Tuesday. The case may go to inquest. Predrose had been employed at Dent.

It lists state comparisons, crop values, and detailed figures for hay, potatoes, rye, barley, oats, spring and winter wheat, corn, and other crops, highlighting Colorado’s lead amid drought nationwide.
W A Skinner and wife of Dallas Texas froze to death near the summit of Pike's Peak during a severe snow storm. They were last seen at 4 p m Monday and found beside each other at about 2 p m Tuesday. He was 55 and she about ten years younger. their 25th wedding anniversary occurred. Both were printers.
The Tribune presents a Friday 4 pm children's tale in the park for a final time this month. Miss Jane Brake will entertain and plans to open a downtown kindergarten September 12 in rooms at the new Baptist church building. The stories include The Widow's Two Daughters Why the Sea is Salt and Billy Beg and His Bull.
Captain Albert E. Love of the Medical Corps, United States Army, writes to the Boy Scouts of America urging proper water safety. He states surface waters are considered infected unless proven safe and recommends boiling or sterilizing drinking water on hikes or camping trips.
Mrs C C L Richardson and her baby arrived from Fort Collins to LaSalle to visit sister Mrs O J Christan. The Bainbridge sisters formerly lived near Greeley and were remembered as Misses Lillie and Lulu. A birthday party was held today at Mrs Christan's residence in LaSalle.
In LaSalle Nebraska A g 23 Pec Dilworth a wild west showman, tried to reach Greeley to see Buffalo Bill and his show. He had two runaways on the Knott ranch near LaSalle. vehicles were wrecked, a team was cut in a wire fence and Mr Milworth was bruised, but the family persisted and finally traveled safely to town.
Mrs. Ratmley of Fort Collins visited Greeley on Tuesday and continued on to Cheyenne to spend the rest of the week.
Pickpockets during Circus Day swiped valuables from fairgoers. Police reported several thefts near entrance gates as crowds gathered for the event. Investigations continue with witnesses sought.
A string of pocketbook thefts reported in Greeley targets travelers at the depot. Walter Ring of Johnstown lost 35 dollars, another man 8 dollars, and W G Rothwell suffered 650 in American express money orders plus two Rock Island tickets. A suspect was caught briefly but released, with the thief believed to have fled into the crowd. Rewards await if tickets are recovered.
J Dodds injured by a runaway team while working on the Bijou ditch near Hardin was brought to the county hospital in Greeley Tuesday. He suffered considerable pain but is resting easier today.
George Horne of Greeley married Miss Queene Yost of Chicago in a private Trinidad home wedding conducted Tuesday by relatives. The couple will reside with Horne’s parents at 721 Twelfth Street after September 15. the bride has studied in a Greeley kindergarten program and spent summers in Colorado.
Lupton files back from Fort Lupton with six cars of early cabbage totaling about 130 tons now on track. Price paid was 80 cents a hundredweight, equal to $16 per ton, valuing the six cars at $2,000.
R E Moan an irrigation man based in Rawlins Wyoming killed two half grown bears while visiting Lupton with friends George and Charley Kelsey. Locals hope to share some bear meat soon.
Milliken August 23 report says the brick plant started yesterday but ran only a few minutes before the fuses connected with the electric power blew out. This forced a shutdown until tomorrow as the workers then went to the circus.
