Water District Plan Divides City in Seven Zones

Greeley council adopted a plan dividing the city into seven water districts to allocate scarce supplies more equitably. Districts are defined by streets and lateral canals, with enforcement via penalties and future rules. noncompliance deemed a misdemeanor. Stabbing Affray On Delta Leaves Man Wounded

A serious stabbing affray on the delta Sunday morning involved Peter Kane, W. J. Camp, and Camp’s son Eugene. Escalating from a water dispute, Kane was struck with a shovel grazing his forehead, countered by a nails-end board blow that cut Camp’s wrist and arm, and a boy’s shovel blow to Kane’s head. Camp stabbed Kane in the left side with a jack knife, medical staff say Kane is in critical but potentially recovering condition at the county hospital. Camp surrendered to the sheriff and was bound over to the grand jury. Eugene was later arrested and placed on bonds.

Spencer-Ross Nuptials at St John’s Cathedral Denver

The marriage of Fermor J. Spencer of Denver to Beasie L. Ross of Greeley took place at St John’s Cathedral Denver on August 1 1888 at eight p m with Dean Hart presiding and Dr Gower at the organ. After the ceremony the couple departed for Salt Lake City for several weeks. Both families are prominent in Greeley with many friends offering congratulations.
