Fort Collins Courier notes Easter offerings at St Luke's Church totaling just over 300 dollars will be applied to the church debt. Elder Lamb announces plans for a monument on Long's Peak this season near where Miss Mary Welton died. On Saturday, Thomas Newton, governor Routt ranch foreman, killed a large wild cat his dog treed. Union Pacific engineers under J H Collins mapped the Greeley Salt Lake and Pacific line through town. Legislature adjourned after a ninety day session with much wind wasted and costs to taxpayers.

A rich ore strike near Little Narrows of the Poudre yields about 84 dollars in gold and silver per ton in Boulder assay. Handy patent syphon head gate endorsed by the Denver Society of Civil Engineers, with tests planned at the college and horticultural department under Prof. Cassidy.
J. 8. Courtney and G. W. Warner plan to sow about one hundred acres to oats and plant sixty to corn this season. A sheep fire caused by a herder destroyed Tyler Haskell's flock. strong winds drove the flames toward the animals. The Evans Journal reports Silver Bros. sold cattle to George Zilar and plan further cattle purchases. The Evans town board held a special meeting, reorganized with Thomas C. Macy reappointed cemetery superintendent, and approved bonds for town officials. A mock trial at the high school concluded after witnesses on both sides, with the jury deadlocked and dismissed.
The report details a large fire that destroyed three hundred of seven hundred sheep or cattle, leaving the remainder scorched and unvalued wool. Community sympathy is noted for Mr. Haskell amid his livestock losses.
The County Commissioners began their April session with routine business and bill allowances for the District Court. They granted a tax rebate of 1500 in value to the tawnee Cattle Company, awarded bridge contracts on several irrigation canals, and set bonds. Other actions included land compensation questions, road petitions, and appointing J. S. Newell as superintendent of Windsor Drain Ditch No. 1 with pay of 2.50 per day.
Poudre Valley Post No. 13 G A R of Greeley passes resolutions expressing sympathy for the death of comrade A P McNitt. They commend his character and life, extend condolences to his widow and daughter, and authorize publication in the Greeley Tribune and Greeley Sun.
