The Columbine club was delightfully entertained at Mrs. Preston's home at 1820 Seventh Avenue Tuesday afternoon. After early social time members engaged in fancy work and were served refreshments by the hostess. Guests included Mrs. Neva Thompson of Denver and Mrs. Mawhinney.
Commencement week activities are planned at the high school with a seniors led class night on May 21 and diplomas to be awarded June 1. A guest speaker from outside the city will address graduates and the 22 member high school orchestra will provide music. Arbor day events are set for April 21 with tree planting and civic pride lessons.
William Motheral, a Weld county poultry enthusiast, has built a fancy Greeley laying house at 13th Ave and 16th St with electric lights designed to simulate daylight. He will switch lights to midnight during laying season to trigger earlier egg production, hoping higher prices for his fancy eggs.

The Meth odist Brotherhood held an open meeting at the Windsor church with Dr. R A Chase of Greeley delivering the address The Church a Man s Job. A social hour followed and refreshments were served as guests of the Brotherhood.
A model rural school, first of its kind in Colorado, will operate in the Delta district after a two to one vote at a Monday meeting. The Normal faculty will experiment with improving rural schools statewide, sharing teachers and funds beyond the old method, with seniors invited to observe.
Dode Fischer narrowly escaped death when a 20 ton traction engine sank through a temporary Platte river bridge under construction. He and a companion leaped into the water and were uninjured. The engine belonged to EK B Fischer, brother of the operator. The new cement bridge is finished and may open today.
Mrs J R Kerr of Cedar Rapids Iowa who has been visiting Mrs H C Newman left today for Denver and will go to Grand Junction from there.
