Election returns formed part of the program at Academy hall Tuesday as LaSalle’s newly elected mayor was showcased during an athletic night featuring two wrestling matches and two boxing bouts. The main six round heavyweight bout between Dave Stewart of LaSalle and Tommy Smith of Omaha ended in a draw. Glen Lewis of LaSalle defeated Frank Gorman of Fort Lupton in two of three. Archie Senier and Warrick Norcross drew in a six round opener.
The Greeley Grays traveled to Milli ken this afternoon to face the Milliken and Johns town team in a local contest.
Rev. John Doane traveled to Lincoln Nebraska today to conduct the funeral services for Mrs. I. S. P. Weeks, an old friend. He will return to Greeley Sunday morning.
The congregation of the First Presbyterian Church will hold its annual business meeting at 7 30 this evening in the church. Annual reports will be presented and the program will include music and refreshments.
Rancher John Atkinson near Wellington attached a note to a tumbleweed and set it adrift. Six weeks later a responder near Fort Morgan found the weed and sent back the tale. The sender joked he burned the other finds, advising Atkinson to do likewise.
Voters in this county cast light turnout with four tickets to elect aldermen. Results show cross ticket wins: Goodrich top alderman with 365 votes, Enright Halli Howard Martin Bullock and Foulk among others. Mayoral, clerk and treasurer elected on nonpartisan lines.
The present city council met on Tuesday with routine business. Aldermen adjourned to meet April 18 for the formal handover to the new board. Resignations of M. G. Carmichael and Jesse W. Smith at the central fire station were accepted. Clayton Investment Co petition for 3000 feet of four inch water main in Clayton subdivision granted with 40 cents per abutting foot for construction. Property owners notified to lay cement sidewalks on Eighth Avenue. The Sterling Investment Company.
In Eaton on April 6 two tickets vied for office. The independents chose T. C. Phillips as mayor and Chris Nelson, J. H. McCall, and G. H. Valentine as trustees.
April 5 report shows W. F. Virgil aged 23 elected mayor on independent ticket. Trustees named James Turner Dr Parker and Co D Ferrick. Independents maintain the town's dry policy.
Windsor voters elected a single ticket slate headed by George Fry for mayor with J. D. Perkins as clerk Walter Hickman treasurer and trustees Lewis Kerns and C. D. Childs in a tax payers anti license victory.
The peoples' ticket backed the current wet policy and won. P. M. Benton was elected mayor with trustees H. B. Crawford J. P. Messick J. C. Flood H. G. Pollock F. C. Nunn and C. L. Huckett joining the board.
Port Collins April 5 Jesse Harris candidate for mayor on the independent reform ticket was elected over L D Crain and the entire independent reform slate won with him.
In Kersey on April 5 a single ticket faced no opposition. R. W. Mortimer was elected mayor while C. G. Corsberg J. B. Killin and T. Truhart won as trustees, concluding a quiet municipal vote.
Citizens ticket wins in Erie with William Nichol son elected mayor and Dr C W Bixler Ben Hershey James Brennan Thomas Murie and P B Wool ley chosen as trustees in the April 5 election.
Sterling reports the nonpartisan slate won the mayoral race with John H. King elected to lead the city. Local results indicate voter support solidified the change in municipal leadership.
The Greeley Gas company was ordered to clear rubbish from in front of their new buildings and tile work for the Fourth Street lateral was ordered. One thousand two hundred fifteen inch tiles will be used.
A heavy movement of Greeley potatoes has depleted stock and left few cars. F B Choate, Union Pacific general agent, notes strong spring demand with Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas as heaviest buyers. Shipments also go to Chicago and California.
Marriage notices show Frank Arthur Edwards and Lil lian Blanche Baton, both of Baton, have been issued licenses. The filing indicates traditional proceedings for their union.
The Pal ticket succeeded in electing one alderman S. H. Blair. City funds and water works management emerged as the election’s main issue. P. D. Barney was elected clerk, C. L. Conklin treasurer, and aldermen named were 8. H. Blair J. E. Glass Dan Ragan A. B. Schrader George W. Dawner W. E. Tetsell.
W D Young elected mayor on citizens ticket. Albert Nichols Dr J A Rockfel low and Charles Berman win trustees seats on conservative ticket. D E Frayton nominated for trustee and elected on both tickets.
In Platteville on April 5 the dry side won by 14 votes after a fierce local battle over liquor. The drys elected one trustee R S Brown. The wets carried mayor Andrew Lang and trustees L A Berkel and L C Camp.
In LaSalle on April 5 a single ticket field produced a mayor and six trustees. Elected officials include David Stewart as mayor and Edward Behrens R. B. Carpenter Philip Dale W. R. Davis Sherman Markle and W. S. Kimzey as trustees.
In Fort Lupton on April 5 the anti license ticket swept the election electing C. H. Sells as mayor and H. C. McAnaney as trustee while the tax payers ticket chose H. B. Johnson and Dr. R. T. Monismith as trustees. Water bonds of 25000 dollars were carried.
Evans on April 5 elected H. R. Chalfant mayor on the dry ticket over Henry Behrens. Fred L. Ellis W. E. Brubaker C. Walk named trustees for two years and Harry E. Johnson for one year.
The Northern Colorado Inter scholastic track meet is set for April 29 at the Normal Athletic field in Greeley. Schools taking part include Boulder Loveland Longmont Fort Collins Eaton Greeley and the State Normal. Greeley high school aims for first place after a second place finish last year with a 25 member squad. A state meet at Colorado Springs on May 6 and a Boulder event on May 20 will see Greeley sending teams.
A district measure labeled as amended passes in District No. 38 affecting water users. The action reflects municipal governance over the water system and sets terms for user assessments and rates.

Freshmen party at Frank Baxter's country home was interrupted when untoward guests jailed eight dozen eggs from the pantry. The intruders cut a screen and broke a window to enter and later severed telephone wires to avoid notice. Miss Beulah Baxter hosted and served a late repast despite the incident.
W P Wasley is having a fine bungalow erected on Twelfth avenue between Fifteenth and Sixteenth streets, reflecting ongoing local home construction.
Mr and Mrs C S Faulkner with family and Mrs W C Dickerson traveled by car to Glen Haven today in a short family outing.
