A yearling calf with a sprained leg, reportedly left in stockyards by a railroad, was given to Smith. He tied the leg and drove the animal two miles to his ranch. deputies say the long stockyard wait was the harsher cruelty.

KE. M. Sandy and S. M. Alien of Fort Collins confessed to perjury in the trial of attorney T. J. Leftwich over an assault on Will Austin on July 5 aboard a C. and S. train No. 82. They pleaded guilty before Judge Gamble at a Saturday night district court session and received terms of not less than one year nor more than two years in the penitentiary. Burglars Loot Ault Hardware Store Saturday Night
Burglars broke into Tyler and Sprinkle Hardware in Ault on Saturday night stealing about 150 worth of knives and razors along with 10 in cash a 20 check and a few small items. The break in was found Sunday morning with blood on the safe door and glass. Two unknown men were seen in the store earlier and a clue hints the same culprits as a recent theft.
