Retail trade leaders in Colorado warn a 3 percent sales tax would harm business, drive shoppers to neighboring states, and threaten unemployment. They urge opposition, citing federal aid funds and potential price increases as key harms.
Washington May 3. Exclusion of dairy products from the 30 hour week bill was urged before the House Labor Committee. National Dairy Union secretary N A Loomin warned the economy would suffer if a 30 hour week were applied to dairy farmers and processors. National Cooperative Milk Producers Association secretary Charles W Telman said higher costs could not be borne without exemption for dairy in parts.
May 2 at Ault marked Senior Sneak Day with the senior class visiting Linkout Mountain to view Buffalo Bill's grave and museum. Harry Harris, 16 years a Greeley resident and former Union Delivery employee, died Tuesday night at Greeley Hospital. He lived at 1701 Eighth Street and was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, a three year old son Wayne, his father Thomes Harris, and four brothers Hubert Broward Alen Harris of Greeley and Harold Harris of Denver. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Macy's Shawing Room with interment at Linn Grove. A funeral service for Mrs Ay Park will be at 3:30 Thursday at the Park residence, 1315 Borenth Street, Macy's in charge.
