The bi annual livestock show day at the New Raymer Fairgrounds drew about 65 4 H members leaders and parents. Demonstrations covered beef dairy and horses with round robin finals won by Marilyn Box Sherry Bashar Alvin Steffen and Bryce Carlson. Senior beef and dairy divisions named top winners as well as horse division victors. Organizers and 4 H leaders assisted with the events.

Richard Krummel and a helper found a honeycomb six to seven feet long behind the Krummels' collector's shop in Port Arthur Texas after a friend removed part of the back wall to reach the nest. The man who removed the wall suffered about 30 stings in the encounter.
