Cowboys join the Green Valley Stampede Rodeo lineup at Island Green grounds as 48 cowboys register for events, with a $200000 livestock inventory and more than 300 entries across the show, while Alsbaugh projects purses near $30,000.
The 18 year old voting amendment gained final state approval in Ohio as the 38th ratifying state. North Carolina and Alabama followed, bringing total ratifications to 37. President Nixon urged young voters to register and participate as the measure becomes law.
The United States faces no draft for the first time in 21 years due to congressional deadlock. Officials report the Selective Service halted inductions except for doctors and registrants in progress while a two year extension fights for approval. Majisfield signals no compromise on his amendment and negotiations are delayed until July.
Greeley FHA officials told Weld County commissioners why a FUND proposed low income housing development eight miles from Fort Lupton was rejected.
