Colorado Methodist conference opens in Greeley today
The seventy seventh session of the Colorado conference begins today at the First Methodist Church in Greeley with Bishop Holt of Dallas and Bishop Wilkie of Denver in attendance. Delegates from 19 former Methodist churches and 200 former Methodist Episcopal churches assemble to elect general and regional boards, and to discuss ministerial training and church governance. Mayor Colpitis welcomes delegates, followed by addresses from college and church leaders. The session marks the uniting conference of the denomination formed at Kansas City in May.

Lupton Man Badly Injured At Milliken
Charles Junzmai 63 of Fort Lytton fractured pelvis and four rib fractures Monday afternoon when his 1983 Chevrolet collided at Christy corner west of Milliken with Paul R. Martin 18 of Plathville driving a 1930 Chevrolet. Mrs Beulah Martin 43, the driver’s mother, was thrown from the Martin car but escaped with cuts. Kenzi Greenley and Rozsile Martin, 10 months old, also in the Martin car, sustained injuries. Other Martin children remained unharmed. The Martin car was guided by Courtesy Patrol. total damage to the Kunzman machine estimated at $100. Martin charged with driving without an operator’s license.

Ward Frenton McMurdo, 49, long time Colorado State College of Education employee and secretary to the board of trustees, died early Tuesday after a period of illness.
