New Teacher Must Be Guided by Democracy in Education
Dr. Malcolm MacLean, head of the University of Minnesota's liberal arts college, told Colorado State College of Education graduates that the new teacher must embrace democracy. He warned against aristocratic schooling and urged teachers to help students set realistic, attainable goals, warning that chasing the impossible breeds frustration and dishonesty. The 46th commencement on the North Campus featured 206 graduates and multiple scholarship awards as 2,000 people attended the ceremony.
