Seniors Tonight Play of Nathan Hale

Tonight a special play features normal high school graduates presenting Nathan Hale. The event showcases senior talent and local students in a period style performance with community attendance anticipated.

Normal School Senior Play Remains on Revolution Tale

The Normal bich school senior class will stage Nathan Hale at 8:15 this evening in Normal chapel. Directed by Morehall Panceast with music by J C Kendell, the play features a cast of Union school pupils and townspeople portraying scenes from 1775 to 1776 including Colonel Knowlton and Widow Chichester.

Planning Fourth of July Celebration in Greeley

Plans are under way for a Fourth of July celebration in Greeley with a council approved safe and sane program. A meeting will be held soon to appoint committees and set a definite holiday program to keep residents from leaving town for entertainment.

The Eaton high school seniors stage Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest in three acts this evening in the school auditorium. A matinee for younger students will be held this afternoon in the same venue.

Motor Cycle Powers Tribune Press During Blackout

Lightning knocked out power at the Greeley electric plant stalling the Tribune Press. Eleven printers and a four horsepower Yale motorcycle kept the press running, fumes and all, until power returned and normal operation resumed. Mr. Muth plans to use Yale motorcycles for odd jobs and shop work alongside racing.

Greeley High School held a color themed class night in the auditorium with 24 member orchestra, speeches, songs, and performances. Major moments included the class history, a crowd pleasing poem, a senior gift, and diplomas presented by Edwin Starkey as the board president.

Ault Youth Found Guilty in Bank Embezzlement Case

In federal court Frank F Davis, 18, was found guilty of embezzling $9 from the First National Bank of Ault where he worked as a trusted clerk. Judge Lewis sentenced him to one year in the Booneville Missouri reformatory as his mother wept in court. Mr and Mrs F E Patchett Pierce were present in Greeley.

Rainfall Boosts Fort Collins Area Crops

Heavy showers along the Poudre River brought one and a half inches of rain in Fort Collins and nearby towns including Berthoud Loveland Wellington. Farmers report intermittent rain since last Saturday improving wheat and beets while ditches show rising water levels. Light rain fell at Windsor Pierce and Ault.

El Paso reports that 150000 Mexican cattle will move north as the rebellion ends. Denver union stock yards expect shipments to ease acute conditions, with catches this season likely 30,000 to 40,000 head after war disruptions. John B. Calkins notes only 10000 had passed during the war, vs 60000 last year. Colorado dealers expect replenishing ranges soon.

Judge John T. Jacobs of Greeley was named to Colorado's state board of examiners for the bar, one of five members and the sole appointee from northern Colorado. Witnesses In Frederick Miners Case Kept In Jail

Four West Virginia witnesses who testified in the Frederick Christmas Eve mining shooting case are guarded in the county jail. The district court trial featured clashes over conspiracy questions as prosecutors seek to link witnesses to agents of the accused. The witnesses were housed in a city house before being moved to jail, and the case may go to the jury by tonight or tomorrow morning.
